Abstract:
The emergence in the last decade of products and services that are significantly different from the classic maps and GIS, and the rapid growth of their popularity raised the question of the need to analyze the methods used to achieve a new quality of work with geoinformation, and systematization of the whole variety of ge-information products – from maps to product class “Digital Earth” – through the establishment of a common classification scheme. The creation of such classification is particularly necessary because it will reveal the internal logic of the evolutionary development of cartographic method and determine the factors responsible for this development. We offer a classification model that covers all the variety of existed and expected geoinformation products and services. Classification features of the proposed model is an possible extent of multiscale and multirakurs features. Factor for the development of cartographic method is the need for the implementation of the situational awareness, involving the gradual elimination of aberrations, hindering adequate perception of the situation by the subject.
