Abstract:
The paper considers the courses of the aerospace thematic block, given at the Faculty of Geography of Lomonosov Moscow State University, to students studying at the Department of Cartography and Geoinformatics. This block includes 5 courses at the “bachelor” level, which provide with; a basic familiarity with methods of obtaining remote information about the Earth: the main types of images processing, image interpretation and stereophotogrammetric processing, the accumulated space information fund and its application possibilities for solving geographic-cartographic problems. At the level of “Master” 3 courses are taught, involving the expansion and deepening of the basic knowledge obtained at the “bachelor” level. Among the problems are the difficulties with the software and hardware of the courses renewal, the lag in the updating of textbooks and teaching aids from the requirements of the new standard, the inconsistency of the bachelor’s study programs for students who studied at the Department of Cartography at Moscow State University and those who entered the magistracy after completing other programs.
