Abstract:
The «Physical geography» course is fundamental in the process of geographical preparation of students of the Faculty of Cartography and Geoinformatics in MIIGAiK. The course considers the structure and development of the geographic environment of the Earth, as well as the major components of the shell of the Earth – geographic belts, natural zones, landscapes and natural and territorial complexes. Apart from the general information and description of natural development processes, much attention is given to anthropogenic (technogenic) impacts and the following changes in regard to each component of the landscape in. Data on the formation of new directions and geographical sciences, the emergence of new concepts, methods and practical results are given. It is noted about the current stage of development of geography, physical geography and their cartographic support. The study is aimed at geographical environment and the interaction between natural and anthropogenic factors. The paper provides information about current state of geographical science as well as about its background.
