A comprehensive analysis of the natural and environmental conditions of the territory of the Arctic zone of Eastern Siberia on the in-between of the Yana and Kolyma rivers is given. Attention is paid to the low resistance and slow re-development of soil and vegetation cover due to the anthropogenic disturbance. The perspectives for the development of the territory call for projects for land assessment in order to implement a full-fledged cadastral registration taking into account land, water and forest resources. Problems in regard to cartographic support for solving basic economic tasks are revealed. The key tasks of the development of the territory are considered as promising in economic and strategic point of view.
