Abstract:
The article explores the role of toponymic researches in traditional natural resource use studies. Toponyms of Severo-Baikalsky region, Republic of Buryatia are discussed. Attempt of classification of toponyms of the region by the groups reflecting geographical features of the territory, specifics of environmental management, ethnographic features of the territory, etc. is made.
