Abstract:
Based on the experience of the performed work, a joint application of surface and mobile laser scanning was shown to be effective for the fullest and most accurate representation of their results with the optimal labor efforts in field and office work. In addition, the results required by most clients can be obtained without employing a labor-intensive 3D modelling process. This refers to such visualization of the site’s scanne points where mobile laser scanning is used for a quick data collection on a large mapping site, while surface laser scanning is used for local mapping of the most significant architectural structures on the same site. The visualization of results of such laser scanning can be achieved by reflecting the scanned points using a color palette. It is convenient to use the Riegl RiScan software system to analyze the surface laser scanning data, while Riegl Process software is suitable for mobile laser scanning data analysis. Then mobile laser scanning data should be imported into the RiScan software, where the final site animation is created.
