Abstract:
The authors consider the state of the Russian Federation’s Main high altitude base, taking into account the leveling works of classes I and II, carried out in 2012–2018 in the framework of implementing the activities of “Modernization” and “Optimization” programs. The results of implementing these programs at the end of 2018 were considered: the leveling lines for classes I and II, their numerical characteristics updated and re-laid, a list of tasks solved within the aforementioned programs, the impact of the work on updating the Main Vysota basis of the Russian Federation was performed. Tasks to be solved include: updating the elevations of the points leveling lines’ normal heights with a high aging rate; elimination of the polygons perimeters’ unacceptable values and residuals; obtaining information on modern vertical movements of the earth’s surface; short-circuiting polygons along the border of Russia with Kazakhstan, Belarus, Georgia and Ukraine. Conclusions are drawn about the state of the Russian Federation’s Main high altitude base as of January 2019 and about the prospects for its further development.
