Abstract:
The possibility of determination of the Solar system motion’s velocity by means of observations of Jupiter satellites was questioned by James Maxwell in 1879. The answer to Maxwell question is of interest to astronomers and physicists because the impossibility to determine the considered velocity follows from the fundamental principle of SRT. We show the possibility to obtain the direction of projection (v) of the Solar system velocity to the plane of ecliptic and impossibility to obtain the value of v without the additional observations from Space.
