Abstract: Economic activity requires constant and thorough study of the patterns and consequences of the "human-environment" relationship. Naturally, the global issue of environmental monitoring is considered by scientists and practitioners as one of the most important, since negative changes in nature directly affect human health. Among the various factors contributing to the successful resolution of this problem, obtaining informative materials reflecting the environmental situation in the regions holds a significant place.
In this context, environmental mapping, which has been repeatedly covered in the journal Geodesy and Cartography, is of undoubted interest to specialists.
Recently, the editorial board of the journal learned about the existence of a women's environmental association that is engaged, among other things, in environmental mapping, and deemed it appropriate to acquaint readers with its activities.
We present an interview conducted by our correspondent M. A. Filatov with the head of the association, associate professor at MIIGAiK, and member of the Geographical Society, R. P. Vedeneva.
