Abstract:

Research work was done to present the role of geographic maps in painting in different periods of Russian history. National historical features in cartographic motives and symbols were reveals. Detailed look was made for main topics for paintings with maps and globes at all history of Russian paintings. The most typical thematic examples were illustrated.
