Abstract:
The connections between the geodetic height and the rectangular spatial coordinates are described. It is emphasized that it is principally impossibly to work out any method on calculating the geodetic latitude and height the point using given rectangular coordinates, without including some iterations in this method, if the point is not on the surface of the chosen ellipsoid. An algorithm is recommended for joint (combined) calculating the geodetic latitude and height the point on the Earth surface. It takes into account the Earth and ellipsoid surfaces are very close to each other. It is underlined that one of the main and nonavoided error reasons in satellite geodetic heights in spite of any transformations are scale distortions.
