The conditions of field works, under which specialists in the sphere of geodesy, geology, etc. are often employed, can carry features of romantics and attract young people to mastering the mentioned profession. This should be foreseen in the training programs of the appropriate institutions taking into account the realities of modern technologies. Examples from author’s many years’ experience are presented.
