In this paper the formation of the Siberian Military Topographic Service (for example, the Omsk military-topographic department) since the organization of military-survey work in Siberia and up to 1917. The study identified and studied: historiography experience the problem, the elements of the training system; stages of life, types, volumes of works performed andtheir dynamics; stories involving military land- surveyors to work.
