The author represents the experience of drone application in order to receive the materials of remote sensing of the earth for the creating a digital topographic plan of communities in the Kaliningrad region and in demarcation of state borders between Russian Federation and Lithuanian Republic at scale of 1: 2 000. The ways of improving the complexes applying the drones in order to receive the materials of remote sensing of the earth for the cartographic purposes are outlined. It is noted that in order to overcome the administrative barriers the question of improvement of legal foundation in determination of order and rules of airspace usage in pilotless plane flights becomes actual.
