Satellite images of very high resolution were used for creation of interpretation keys for different kinds of built areas. Their interpretation at new territories adding to Moscow was made and map of built types distribution was compiled. The map shows that density and structure of built areas changes with distance from Moscow – from complex structure with both traditional and new building types (cottages, townhouses et al.) to more simple structure with prevailing of small-store (town and village) buildings for permanent living and kitchen-garden buildings for seasonal living in equal shores.
