Density maps of the types of development were created based on the interpretation of high resolution satellite images. Maps cover reference sites in the western sector of the near and far zones of Moscow region. Analysis of these maps revealed the basic rules of the territorial distribution of different built-up areas types. Geographically weighted regression modeling allowed us to prepare predicted density maps of built-up areas and estimate the main factors influencing for the distribution of development in Moscow region. This method revealed perspective points of growth development areas in Moscow suburbs.
