Abstract:

Two development concepts of geodesy are considered: the official one, which is based on the definition and understanding of geodesy section «Short Surveying and geodetic dictionary-directory» (1968, 1973, 1979, 1989.). And the geometric concept by the author. It is shown that the ideology based on the first concept, pointless in scientific understanding, leads to gradual loss of geodesy as a complete scientific system.
