Article is devoted to the processing and analysis of statistical data on forest fires in Russia in 2010. For many subjects of the Russian Federation forest and peat fires this year were a disaster. In this paper, along with the standard statistical characteristics of forest fires ( the number of fires by fires forest area, the volume of burnt forest) are considered indicators which characterize the efficiency of detection and extinguishing forest fires, damage from fires . The article raised questions forest recovery after fires. Paying attention to the legal side of the protection of forests.
