Abstract:
One of the main elements of managing urban strategic development, analyzing and monitoring current problems (such as constructing, improving the territory, providing security etc.) is its digital cartographic base. The main requirement is that the information is to be up-to-date and meet the technical criteria. The following matters are considered in the article: what map-making is required for urban areas and what opportunities appear at using aerial space photography data for creating digital topographic bases of cities.
