Abstract:
In 2024, it was 90 years of establishing the highest USSR distinction degree, the title of Hero of the Soviet Union. During the Great Patriotic War, about 11.5 thousand people were awarded it. To date, there are six known Heroes of the Soviet Union related to the Military Topographic Service of the Red Army. Among them there are I. P. Zima and A. V. Sidorov who served in topographic units before the war. N. N. Nemirovsky studied at the Leningrad Military Topographic School, was expelled, sent to the front, and later awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union posthumously. E. I. Mikhailov and M. S. Mordvyannikov graduated from the same school after the war, being Heroes of the Soviet Union. At that time, E. T. Morozov graduated from the topography department of the Military Pedagogical Institute of the Soviet Army and lectured the mentioned discipline to future army-officers. The authors provide information on the biographies of the named Heroes of the Soviet Union, and describe their exploits at the fronts of the Great Patriotic War
