Abstract:
The authors present an approach of the geoinformation modeling of touristic areas at the municipal level. Its application and mapping allowed analyzing heterogeneous and constantly updated material characterizing territorial recreational systems. The problem solution of combining nature protection and tourist and recreational functions of the Baikal coastal areas with a unique environmental status, is offered. The institutionally grounded approach enabled differentiating the territory according to the legal and regulatory restrictions on economic activity, and localizing anthropogenic impact on the natural and social environment of touristic areas. The territories of the mentioned kind (tourist and recreational zones) were identified. Based on integral indicators taking into account the nature and intensity of recreational load, sustainability of natural landscapes, as well as the current standards of anthropogenic impacts, the plan-scheme of touristic development for the selected territories was made. The tools of legal ecological zoning and landscape planning were applied, the goals of the territories development were determined. A solution of the mentioned tasks for the said territories and increasing the recreational properties through displacement of massif tourist flow from the Baikal shore was suggested. The sites intended to save the natural diversity and ecosystem functions of the territory were identified. The developed algorithm is implemented in the Slyudyansky district of the Irkutsk oblast, RF, at the southwestern coast of the lake
