The methods and principles of creating a series of digital environmental students’ maps of the Buryatya Republic are represented. We consider the natural resource and touristic recreation potential of the territory. The thematic content of the maps of natural resources and recreational and tourist maps is characterized. The opportunities of using maps in the teaching and learning process are shown.
