The conditions of field works, in which there are often specialists in the sphere of geodesy, Geology, etc. act, can carry features of romance and thereby attract young people to acquisition of the present profession. This should be covered in the training programmes of the respective institutions, take into account the realities of modern technologies. Examples are presented from author’s long experience.
