In this article the authors draw the reader’s attention to existing problems of informing the participants of the power branch. Such science as cartography can have an essential impact on evolution of the power branch through development of the informing system for power markets participants about the existing situation in this power supply system or power region. Having acted as the catalyst of developing power industry cartography will help to receive economic benefits not only in repairs and restoration of worn-out grids but also in reducing tariffs for the electric power/capacity.
