The methodology and results of the natural and economic zone division (NED) of the Russian Federation Arctic are described. It is intended for formation of integrated space monitoring GIS Atlas territorial modules. The NED was carried out on the basis of modern GIS technologies and remote sensing materials. During the division hierarchically coordinative territorial units (regions and districts) were identified. They were to provide for a rational approach to the choice of space monitoring parameters and technologies for creating geospatial products in the interests of sustainable development management in the Russian Arctic.
