Abstract:
It is a series of articles dedicated to the issues of automated assignment of measurement scales in the solution of inverse photogrammetry notches when the exact variance of the measurements is not known. The article is the first one on this topic. It identifies indicators of accuracy and reliability of the photogrammetric solution of the inverse notch. It is stated, that in virtue of the theorem by M. Chasles an exact solution may be unreliable, but that reliable solution is accurate. A formulation for studies in the framework of the method of least squares and identified appropriate solutions was made. The progress and main results of experimental studies on the example of solving the inverse notches on optic-electronic satellite images were set out. The analysis of the obtained results installed a new analytical relation between root-mean-square error of unit weight and features of accurate measurements both before and after the adjustment. The directions for further research in obtaining the required mean square error of unit weight were identified.
