Abstract:
The article deals with the questions of the development of cartographic maintenance for natural resources managers. The making of a new tool – a system of natural resources’ digital cartographic models of region – is stated as a means for nonprofessionals in cartography and GIS to fulfill geospatial analysis and modeling to solve specific tasks in the field of regional natural resources planning and management. The definition of natural resources as a mapping object in the system of natural resources’ digital cartographic models of region is given. The list of types and subtypes of natural resources considered as a theme of mapping is justified. The classification accounting natural resources in the system of natural resources’ digital cartographic models is described. The list of natural resources’ parameters depicted in resources in the system of natural resources’ digital cartographic models of region is thoroughly considered. The indicative list of mapping indicators of natural resources in the system of natural resources’ digital cartographic models of region is formed. The input and output parameters of the system of natural resources’ digital cartographic models of region are described. A case of making of the system of forest resources’ digital cartographic models of Novosibirsk region for forest management planning is characterized.
