An overview of the climate mapping methods is represented. The methodical techniques of processing and classification of soil thermal regime of areas with complex relief are suggested. Summer thermal regime is rated according the highest temperature of the soil layer capacity of 3.2 m in the annual cycle. The mapping features are shown on the example of the Irkutsk region, where four types of soil summer heating are determined: warm, moderately warm, moderately cold and cold. Their climatic characteristic is given and zoning opportunities are identified. The basis for zoning is a cartographic model of types of the soil thermal regime in conjunction with the leading geographical factors of its formation.
