Multipurpose atlas mapping of cities is an important field, the development of which has not been paid sufficient attention in recent years. In the year of the 300th anniversary of the city, its first multipurpose atlas is being developed at the Perm State University. The purpose of this work is to raise the public interest in history and geography of the city. The structure of the future atlas is traditional and includes five sections: Introduction, History of development, Natural conditions, Economy and social sphere, state and environmental protection. At designing the atlas and making thematic maps, traditional approaches are combined with the use of new data and mapping methods. All the necessary information is compiled, GIS databases, basemap and typical map layouts are created, thematic maps and infographics are under editing. Potential users of the atlas can be state and municipal employees, those of design and survey organizations, organizations working in the field of consulting and analytics, travel agencies, universities, academic institutions and schools.
