Abstract:
A methodology for constructing a local quasi-geoid model by combining the global EGM-2008 one and geometric levelling is presented. GNSS measurements (ITRF-2008) and geometric levelling of classes I–IV were performed at 38 points in St. Petersburg and its forest park area. The local correction to the global model is approximated by a second-order polynomial in plane coordinates; the polynomial parameters are estimated using least squares with weights of the input data. The systematic component of the differences between EGM-2008 and local indicators is 8,6 cm, the random component makes 4,1 cm. The constructed quasi-geoid model has a root mean-square error of 2 cm, and the average influence of parameter mistakes on height anomaly corrections does not exceed 1 cm. The proposed approach transforms GNSS elevations into the Baltic Height System 1977 with the accuracy sufficient for producing topographic plans of any map scale
