The execution of sea floor hydrographicstudies to ensure safe transit of the deep- draught vessels across the Northern Sea Route is examined. It is indicated that the shipping lanes for such vessels should be charted significantly to the north of traditional shipping routes. New high-latitude routes would cross the areas where the sea floor is studied with extremely low details. Method for optimization of the plan for the execution of sea floor hydrographic study of high-latitude combined route is described. Method is aimed at enhancing of efficiency of operational hydrographic surveys execution to ensure the Deep-draught superships to navigate safely across Arctic seas.
