Abstract:
Banning nuclear tests at the Semipalatinsk nuclear test site gave a start to the economic use of its territory. For monitoring the radiation background at the polygon a comprehensive approach is required, including surveying and cartographic works. The authors suggest a number of surveying and cartographic works, including the development of GIS for the polygon’s area.
