Abstract:
Environmental information (particularly information about the state of the environment on the territory of large towns) is an important part of the thematic content of a spatial data infrastructure. The set of environmental geodatabase, which is formed for inclusion in the spatial data infrastructure should include analytic and complex characteristics of pollution of all the main natural components: atmospheric air, surface waters, soils, man-made radiation environment. The article examines the role of environmental information in the formation of a spatial data infrastructure to the municipal level. As a tool for presenting environmental information in a spatial data infrastructure is recommended to use a cartographic model of the ecological situation. These models give the possibility to visualize the state of the environment and to implement environmental prediction and present the results. The conducted research allowed us to validate the list of environmental data collected to characterize the environment within a large industrial center, as well as the method of visualization and modeling of the collected data using the cartographic method of research and techniques of geoinformation mapping. The authors developed and presented a series of digital environmental maps on the territory of Novosibirsk as a tool for presenting the environmental situation.
