The International Conference InterCarto 19 in February 2013 passed as usually in two stages: Russian part in Kursk, part of the foreign – in Bogota, the capital of Colombia. Theoretical and methodical aspects of GIS-security of tasks of geoinformatics, cartography, remote sensing of the Earth, problems of the ecological sustainability and the assessment of the impact on the environment, creation of models and their application were considered during the Conference. Options of using of the information for the decisionmaking and risk assessment were proposed, possibilities of the geoinformational mapping of the biodiversity and the nature protection were presented.
